Malacca traditional house






























The colourful and intricate tiles on the steps of this 'kampung' house are typical of traditional Malay homes in Melaka.

















The traditional Melaka house was built by a Chieftain and is a classic example of 19th century Melaka architecture with its ornate and colourful tilework.

Kuan Yin Teng Temple, Penang
















The oldest temple in Penang, Kuan Yin Teng Temple is dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy, and was originally built in 1800. In March and October, the temple comes alive with the birthday celebrations of the Goddess.
